About Picked Properly

Picked Properly is a small, independent UK site. It exists because most buying guides are either endless or obviously written to sell whatever pays best. We wanted short, honest lists of things genuinely worth buying, with a straight explanation of why each one made the cut. We're starting with gifts, and adding more buying guides over time.

How the lists are made

Each gift shortlist starts with a person rather than a product: who they are, what they already have, and what they'd never buy for themselves. We look at what gifts in that category tend to get used, returned or forgotten, and keep only ideas that pass the "would I be pleased to unwrap this?" test.

We use AI tools to help research and draft the lists. Every list is then read, checked and edited before it goes live, and we update lists each season so they don't go stale.

We don't link to specific listings that can disappear or change price overnight. Instead, links take you to Amazon UK search results for that kind of product, so you can compare options, read reviews and see current prices yourself.
